Hello and welcome to the HumanWare
See Things Differently podcast.
Each month, join your hosts
Peter Tucic, David Woodbridge and Rachael Ramos as we bring you interviews from guests, interaction
from our distribution partners, current promos, shows and conferences
where you can find us, and so much more.
So stick around.
Hey everybody.
Good morning, good evening,
good afternoon, maybe even good night.
I don't know when you're listening,
but this is a trailer for the all new See Things
Differently with HumanWare podcast.
My name is Peter Tucic.
I am the Director of Strategic
Partnerships, and I am joined by two colleagues who will be regular
hosts amongst many others.
And you are about to hear from us
for a few minutes just so you can save this place.
Save this feed
in your podcast catchers of choice.
We will be back with you
for the first full episode on the third
Thursday of January, and subsequently
the third Thursday of every month.
But before I get into what
that's going to contain, I am joined by none other than from Down Under.
What is your name, sir?
Last time I checked,
my name was David Woodbridge.
David Woodbridge, a legend.
You are a legend and now you are on board.
So we're thrilled to have David here.
David is going to be a part of this HumanWare
See Things Differently with HumanWare, the podcast
and from a neighboring state of mine.
I'm in Chicago, Illinois,
but now the newly transplanted member of our team here
at the See Things Differently podcast.
What is your name?
Hello friends. My name is Rachel Ramos.
I am a new transplant to Wisconsin,
so I'm learning all about the climate, the cheese, the cheese, the sausage,
the beautiful food here.
And maybe I can share a thing or two
on the podcast.
In addition to some wonderful segments
and guests and partners that will have as well.
That's the big key here.
Rachel is going to be putting it
all together.
So Rachel is our hostess slash, producer extraordinaire in all of this.
So we appreciate that a ton, Rachel.
So we're going to see how you do.
I'm up for it Peter. Let's make this happen.
It'll be good.
So, just to give everyone
a sense of what we're doing, this podcast,
as I said, will come out on the third
Thursday of each month
starting in January.
The podcast is going to have
some key segments to it.
The first will be a featured guest,
and for each month we're going to have a theme.
January is Braille awareness Month.
So that's a perfect theme.
Not that we will be talking
about the minutia of Braille, because that can be a little redundant
there.
But, we're going to have folks
who use Braille on the podcast, and we'll have a few key,
key people with us.
And all three of us are Braille users,
but we will rotate through various themes.
So January is Braille, February, for
instance, would be low vision awareness.
In March,
we will have International Women's Day.
So we'll be having various themes again
kind of throughout it'll be the first three months of the year and we'll rotate
through various, themes of our podcast.
So we'll have a featured guest.
We will have a partners corner
where we talk about sometimes colleagues here at HumanWare, where sometimes
our distributors, key dealers, organizational partners
of ours, institutional partners.
So we will have, folks there.
We'll also have
other segments on the podcast.
So we will do a hot topic.
And again,
something of interest to the community.
We'll have a did you know area.
And that'll be really the most HumanWare
themed piece of this, will be kind of the, did you know, tips
and tricks on HumanWare devices, possibly some other blindness
sort of life hacks, if you will.
And then what?
My favorite part of this is,
and I think for all of us here, we are going to have
a cringe worthy story of the month.
And this really will be cringeworthy.
It will really lead to a discussion
on blindness or low vision, or how we're impacted by,
the world around us.
And have we had experiences
that may lead to some fruitful discussions on how we've interacted
with our surroundings?
And have there been times where
in the last month, or just overall, where we've had to just kind of step back
and think about the way we approach and uncomfortable or,
you know, a situation that might be not necessarily easy to talk about, but something that
we may have different viewpoints on.
And so we'll we'll be going there.
Finally, we will wrap up with a kind of
letting you all know out there where HumanWare
will be over the next month.
So current promotions shows
we will be at conferences we will be at maybe, you know,
some some of the travel we'll be doing.
And with us having a global presence,
this will not just be focused on one area.
We certainly want to encourage
obviously listenership around the world, but have a way for all of you joining us
to know where you may be able to find us.
As I always say, at a table near you,
you know, or we're at a webinar near you and just let
you know what we're up to.
I think that,
David, since you are, you know, the most renowned podcast, can you,
can you give us one quick sound effect?
Are you going to be adding sound effects
to this podcast?
Indeed, this is one of my favorite ones.
And I'm going to I'm going to leave
another special one for the next cringeworthy moment that we do
when we start doing this, but this is one of my favorite ones to see,
and that'll be when you tell those jokes.
And the thing is, I'll have to listen
very carefully, because I was in Australia earlier this year
and I got very good at deciphering, but I guarantee you
I will mishear something you say and then it will lead
to lots of those drum fills.
They will. Now listen, mate,
we speak English over here.
You lot that you don't.
You lot don't speak English.
So we're, you know, we're we're colonial people out from the UK
which UK people speak very well.
So there's no Aussie accent at all.
I don't know why people keep saying that Australians have got an accent,
but anyway, cool.
What's funny?
Rachel's about to have a Wisconsin accent,
which is, you know, pretty close to what I have.
It's going to be like,
oh, don't you know, in no time, right?
Oh dear.
Well, I'm really looking forward to this.
I'm thrilled to have David
and Rachel thrilled to have you here.
I think we're all so excited
to get this off the ground again.
See things differently with HumanWare
the podcast and we are just fired up.
We really looking forward
to engaging with all of you.
If you would like to provide us
with feedback, you can do so by sending an email to [email protected]
And that is a place where certainly
you can make suggestions if you had feedback,
if you would like to contribute to what you're hearing on the podcast,
maybe you know, if we get enough feedback, maybe we will have a segment
on some of the things we've received.
Certainly.
We're oh, we're getting this all going.
We will also be providing
transcripts of the podcast that will be will be on our website.
We'll be available. We'll have show notes
and things for everybody.
And we encourage you to provide suggestions on
maybe pieces that you would like us to add to the podcast as well.
So again, [email protected] .
All right.
Friends well stay tuned and we will
see you on the third Thursday in January.
